In April 2007 the Senegambiafamily has founded the Senegambiagroup. The purpose of the Senegambiagroup is to realize a better cooperation between the different organizations, groups and people who dedicate themselves voluntary for better life circumstances and a nicer future in the Gambia and the Senegal. The Senegambiafamily is also webmaster of www.senegambiagroup.com and gives free access to it at all her members.

• Education

At our yearly visit, completely financed by ourselves, we donate several materials like: board paint, chalks, notebooks, textbooks, pencils, rubbers, measuring rods, educative toys, …etc to different schools >read more
Thanks to the Senegambiafamily there are now already more than 20 children sponsored, so that the children can follow school and are provided with food every noon. A nice example is Jainaba Bittaye. The school ‘ Insituut van de Heilige Familie’ from Schaarbeek also sponsors 8 children. This all is in cooperation with the Gambiavrienden.

• Helping goods

Yearly we rent a part of a container to bring our collected helps to the Gambia and to divide it under the children and the pore people. It usually handles about baby-, children and youth clothes, men clothes, shoes, footballs, school material , medical material,…. >read more

• Employment

Early 2008 we started a goats- and sheep’s farm in Karantaba, 300 km interior. The farmer receives a monthly salary and with the revenues of the sales of the goats and the sheep’s eventually more projects can be financed. This project is in cooperation with GROS-Halen >read more

Missionary`s of Charity
In this shelter of Mother Theresa sisters take care of on an average 50 ill children or newborn babies. The population can come free on consultation over there and they have a mobile help post at their disposal. We support them with rice, baby nutrition, milk powder, baby clothes >read more

Daymarro foundation for cardiac support in the Gambia (NGO)
This organization likes to help patients with the treatment and the prevention of heart diseases by reeducation and education of people. This is important, because of the fact that there are no cardiologists in the Gambia. Medication is also an important aspect.
